Smart Minds, a Teacher Training Academy in Nepal, has for many years been trying to advocate the implementation of Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) into various subject areas in schools in Nepal. In order to fuel and support Smart Minds’ effort in training Nepalese teachers with the latest teaching methods, both organizations have agreed to work for a common good, and more particularly on ESD based teaching/learning. Finland is known for having one of the best education systems in the world, and learning from Finnish top educators and teachers will benefit Smart Minds team, who in turn will spread the best approaches to Nepalese teachers. Parshuram S Niraula, Director and Educator at Smart Minds; and as the Country Representative for EduGems, will coordinate all the joint training/online programs in Nepal.

Meet EduGems' International Management and Training director, also Country Representative for EduGems in Nepal

Parshuram S Niraula is the Founder/Director/Educator at the Teacher Training Academy Smart Minds Nepal. He has received teachers training from Mt. Hermon College of Education, Darjeeling and CEE, Ahmedabad, India; Scotland and Sweden. He worked as teacher and school manager in many reputed schools since 1982 within and outside Nepal. He is also the Founder & Chairman of Centre for Environment Education Nepal (CEEN) and is involved in EE/ESD projects. He has also worked as a Project Coordinator in Climate Change Adaptation Project with Helvetas Swiss Intercooperation Nepal. He has attended few international conferences/workshops on environment and education. He was involved with few schools within and outside Kathmandu as Academic Consultant and trainer. Apart from education, he has studied ecology, environment and sustainable development. He has long been practicing integrated teaching and learning approach and therefore, all the training that he provides has international flavor and elements of integration.
